CAVITE -- Proving that no physical setback can hinder his sense of civic duty, Fernando Espino arrived early at Gahak Elementary School in Kawit, Cavite on Monday, determined to vote despite needing crutches due to a motorcycle accident two years ago.

Clad in a simple shirt and guided by his saklay, Espino made his way to his assigned precinct without hesitation.

“Aksidente po ito, ma’am,” he explained, referring to his condition. “Syempre sa kadahilanang sayang po ang boto ko.”

Espino emphasized that his injury was no excuse to skip the elections, saying each vote holds weight in determining the future of the community and the country.
