Marawi City Mayor Majul Usman Gandamra will conclude his third term and is now gunning for the seat of vice mayor. Attempting to take his place is his son, Shariff Zain Gandamra. He battles for the mayoralty against former mayor Sultan Fahad “Pre” Salic and Jubert Tomawis.

While categorized by the poll body as a red area, due to election-related incidents in the past, the election season in Marawi City has remained relatively calm and peaceful, despite the reports of threats to disrupt elections, according to an official of the Marawi police.
