MANILA — A woman who goes by the alias "Kim" has come forward to claim she witnessed Davao City 1st District Representative Paolo Duterte's alleged assault of a man inside a bar on February 22.

In an affidavit submitted to the police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) last May 9, 2025, Kim narrated the incident she allegedly witnessed.

Talking to ABS-CBN News, Kim said she goes to Davao three times a month for work and had known Kristone John “Sion” Patria for about two years through a mutual friend.

According to Kim’s affidavit, last February 22, Patria asked her to go to Woodridge, a private village in Davao City.

Kim said upon entering the place, she saw Rep. Duterte, Patria, and businessman Charlie Tan, along with several other women.

Okay naman pinapunta naman ako doon,” she said.

When Kim arrived at the bar, she claimed she saw Duterte drinking and dancing.

About 20 minutes later, Kim said Duterte asked her and two other women to stand up and leave the bar to go with Duterte’s two bodyguards.

After an hour, Kim and the two other women went back to the bar where Duterte allegedly gave her and the two women P13,000 each.

Kim alleged that tension started when Duterte, in Bisaya, asked a woman if she had been partnered with someone but the woman failed to answer. Kim said Duterte became furious and pulled out a knife to confront Patria.

Kim stated she and the others were ordered to stay in another floor of the bar without their phones, not allowed to look downstairs.

“Nag-panic ako kasi siyempre papatayin kami, wala kaming magawa kasi na-corner talaga, parang kumbaga hopeless,” she added.

She described witnessing Patria being beaten, slapped, punched, and hit on the hands—with each strike reportedly accompanied by P1,000.

“Nagbaba na kami doon na namin nakita na grabe yung pagbugbog kay Sion, sampal, palo sa kamay, kada palo sa kamay isang libo, kada sampal isang libo, kada suntok isang libo,” she said.

Kim also allegedly heard Duterte instructing his bodyguard to slap Patria with money.

Eventually, she said Duterte and his group left the venue. Kim and the other women waited until they were sure he was gone before leaving. She took a ride-share vehicle and lost contact with Patria afterward.

“First time ko ma-experience yung ma-corner ng ganun, parang hopeless talaga,” she said.

Kim said she did not return to Davao until late April due to the trauma.

Asked why she came out with her affidavit two months after the alleged incident, Kim said she decided to speak out to help Patria, whom she considers a friend.

Kim also wanted to support others who may have gone through similar experience but are too afraid to speak up. She said no one forced her to come forward.

Trauma talaga… Para na rin sa lahat ito,” she said.

Kim said she fears for her safety and requested to hide her identity.

Patria earlier submitted his affidavit to the CIDG to complain and file a report on the alleged assault by the congressman. An alleged CCTV video of the incident has already gone viral.

Prosecutor General Richard Anthony Fadullon of the Department of Justice (DOJ) confirmed receiving Patria’s official complaint on May 9.

ABS-CBN News has reached out to Duterte and his camp for comment. According to his staff, they do not have new statement regarding the allegation.

Duterte in his previous statement via social media, said he has no response regarding the allegation and his lawyers are still verifying the video.
