Garcia said the Comelec received reports that the official was present during the distribution of financial assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), which is strictly prohibited under the spending ban exemptions given by the poll body.

“Meron tayong na-monitor na tumatakbo diyan sa bandang Occidental Mnindoro na kung saan yung mismong incumbent na tumatakbo—present during the distribution. Ngayong araw na ito ay ma-issue na namin yung show cause at the same time maaari din namin ikansela yung exemption na ibinigay namin sa DSWD and we will also inform the secretary of the DSWD na may ganitong klaseng pangyayari,” Garcia told reporters.

So yan po ang example na yan gusto nating halimbawa sa lahat na pag sinabi ng Comelec na totohanin namin, tototohanin namin. Walang pulitiko o kandidato during the distribution ng mga ayuda. Eh nakita natin dun sa mga pictures siya pa mismo ang nag-aabot ng mga ayuda, that’s abuse of state resources, maliwanag na maliwanag,” he added.

“Napatunayan na po namin na nagpa-file ang Comelec pagkatapos ng show cause ng petition to cancel or disqualify yung mismong kandidato…. ang importante may show cause muna para lang kahit paano may proseso… alangan namang file kami ng file bandang huli madi-dismiss din pala… at least may show cause muna,” Garcia said.
