Quezon City — The house in Meycauayan, Bulacan where steel magnate Anson Que and his driver were believed to be tortured and killed “might have been used as a scam farm”, Philippine National Police (PNP) spokesperson P/BGen. Jean Fajardo said on Monday.

The house also has “a Chinese flag on display,” Fajardo said.

“Marami tayong narecover na ganito which raises our suspicion na ito pong lugar po na ito might have been used or being used as a scam farm or scam hub for POGO engaged in POGO operation po at mayroon din pong naka display na Chinese flag po,” Fajardo said.

Fajardo added that they found computers and a hard drive inside the house when they implemented a search warrant on April 16.

These will be subjected to forensic examination, and the police will apply for a warrant to examine computer data to determine if the gadgets were used in illegal activities.

“These are some of the indication po na nakikita po natin itong insidente na ito, at least on the side po na mga tao po na kumuha po at pumatay kay Ginoong Anson Tan might have been involved or at least involved po sa POGO associated activities po.”

Based on the result of the autopsy, the PNP said the cause of death of Que and Armanie Pabillo was "asphyxia by manual strangulation".

“Just to give ang update po, lumabas na rin po yung result po ng autopsy, at namatay po ang dalawang biktima po, ang nakalagay po doon na cause of death po ay asphysia by manual estrangulation so sinakal po sila. Ang pinansakal po sa kanila ay yung lubid po na orange, ang pumatay po sa kanila ay yung dalawang Filipino po, according to their statement po,” said Fajardo.

Partial results of DNA cross matching and fingerprint analysis were also released.

Fingerprints collected inside the house matched those of the 3 suspects who now in custody, police said.

“Lumabas na rin po yung mga initial findings sa mga narecover po nating ebidensya doon po sa [bahay] ay may nagmatch na po na DNA na matching po the DNA profile po ni Ginoong Armanie Pabillo sa kutsara po nakuha yung kanyana DNA,” Fajardo said.

The pieces of evidence will be used by the PNP to strengthen the case against suspects, she added.

“Ang isa po sa challenges na hinaharap ng investigating unit is it involves crypto currency, beyond reach ng jurisdiction po ng Philippines po. Hihingi po tayo ng tulong sa relevant government agencies po para po ma-trace po natin at matunton kung kanino po talagang account huling bumagsak po ito,” Fajardo said.

Authorities are still in pursuit of 2 other suspects.

With the case developments, PNP AKG is confident it has enough evidence to prosecute David Tan Liao’s group—who they say is responsible for various kidnappings in Alabang, Solaire and Pasay City.

Liao’s group is believed to be used as an "enforcer" of POGO associated personalities for kidnapping and vengeance, Fajardo said.
