Last of 6 foreigners who went missing during Negros Oriental hike found

CEBU CITY — The four remaining foreigners of six reported to have gone missing while on a hiking trip in Negros Oriental have been found alive, the municipality of Valencia said on its official social media page. 

All four of were located around 9:44 on Saturday near the hydropower plant in Silab, in Amlan town.

The missing tourists had been identified in earlier reports as Germans Alwin Fink, and “Wolfgang”, a Canadian called “Terry”, and Anton Chernov from Russia.

The Valencia local government unit said the four were found by Army soldiers and rescue personnel and volunteers.

The foreigners  will be sent to the incident command post in Amlan. Authorities have yet to release an official statement as well as details of the search and rescue mission for the tourists.

The four were part of a group that went on a hiking trip to the Twin Lakes in San Jose coming from Valencia last Wednesday.

They were reported missing the following day, when the rescue operations also commenced.

Two other tourists — Alexander Radvanyi from the United Kingdom and German national Torsten Martin Groschupp — were found in the vicinity of Malabo, Valencia. on Friday.
