MANILA — Stand-up comedian Goldenier Dagal received threats from individuals offended by his dark humor prior to his fatal shooting, his mother said.

Dagal, 38, was shot dead by three unidentified assailants inside a bar in Angeles City on Saturday, according to an initial police report. The suspects immediately fled after the attack.

Dagal was rushed to a nearby hospital but died nine hours later after suffering more than ten cardiac arrests, his mother said.

Cruz said her son once shared that he wanted to create an avenue where people could explore uncomfortable topics in a safe environment.
