MANILA — A total of 12 people have been reported dead due to typhoons Nika, Ofel, and Pepito that overlapped with each other in a span of weeks, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said on Thursday.

From the 12 reported fatalities, 5 have been confirmed while 7 remained up for validation. The agency added that 14 were reported injured while 3 were missing.

The NDRRMC said a total of 939,936 families or some 3.5 million people were affected by the typhoon trio, from which 300,953 persons had to be moved to different evacuation centers.
