<div style="text-align:center"><iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/hEZ-W4jczXw?si=sDVPEBI2yDuXs9gm" title="YouTube video player" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe><br/></div><div><br/></div><p>MANILA<strong> (UPDATE) </strong>— The inspection of flood control projects from 2016 to 2025 should start over due to reported <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/1/17/dizon-confirms-previous-dpwh-leadership-submitted-wrong-flood-control-project-coordinates-2101">discrepancies in the grid coordinates</a>, Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Undersecretary Arthur Bisnar said Monday.</p><p>“Dahil po dito sa development na ito na most likely maling location ang napuntahan nila, then we have to restart over,” he said during the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee hearing on the multi-billion peso flood control corruption issue.</p><p>Bisnar said the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Philippine National Police have so far inspected 10,238 flood control projects.</p><p>Of this, 252 were declared non-existent or “ghost.” He said the authorities would have to revisit these projects.</p><p>Senate President Pro Tempore and Blue Ribbon Committee chair Panfilo “Ping” Lacson last week disclosed that he received a report that former DPWH secretary Manuel Bonoan gave wrong coordinates to Malacañang, which were used for the Sumbong sa Pangulo website.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2026/1/19/bonoan-attends-senate-hearing-amid-claim-he-gave-wrong-flood-projects-coordinates-1259">Bonoan attends Senate hearing amid claim he provided &#x27;wrong&#x27; flood projects coordinates</a></div><p>During the hearing, DPWH officials explained the coordinates given to the Office of the President were different from the actual coordinates used as basis for the projects&#x27; contracts.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>DOJ: CASES NOT TO BE AFFECTED</strong></div><div><br/></div><p>The Department of Justice meanwhile assured that the wrong coordinates will not affect the cases against those allegedly involved in some ghost projects. </p><p>“As far as the cases that we have already and we are conducting investigations, hindi naman po siya maaapektuhan,” Prosecutor General Richard Anthony Fadullon said.</p><p>He explained that the DOJ’s investigation is separate from that of the Independent Commission on Infrastructure, which it transmits to the Office of the Ombudsman.</p><p>Both are said to be misled by the wrong coordinates written on the Sumbong sa Pangulo website.</p><p>“The Department of Justice, gumagalaw po ng sarili niya… Pero itong mga kaso na iniimbestigahan po natin ay batay po sa pagsusuri na ginagawa ng NBI upon the directive of the DOJ,” he said. </p><div><br/></div><div><strong>RELATED VIDEO</strong></div><div><br/></div><div><span class="fr-video fr-deletable fr-fvc fr-dvb fr-draggable" contenteditable="false" draggable="true"><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/CTz8aDj5HNQ?&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe></span><br/></div>
