Robert Morico II said the nine police officers were already under restrictive custody prior to the issuance of the warrants, allowing authorities to immediately serve them.</p><p>The six civilians arrested were former security personnel and workers of cockfighting arenas linked to businessman Atong Ang. </p><p>“Before nangyari ang ito, they are already under surveillance and they are arrested. Majority of them are from Region 4A,” Morico said. </p><p>Morico said the CIDG received two warrants of arrest related to the case involving Ang. </p><p>The warrants include five counts of kidnapping with homicide and six counts of kidnapping and serious illegal detention.</p><p>“All in all there are 18 accused and out of this number— 10 are police officers, 1 is a former police officer, dismissed na kasi ‘yung isa and 8 ang civilian, including Atong Ang,” Morico said. </p><p>Authorities said the operation was still ongoing with assistance from other units. </p><p>The CIDG director urged Ang to surrender peacefully, stressing that authorities are actively pursuing him.</p><p>“I asked Mr. Atong Ang to peacefully surrender na lang. We have several [operations], ongoing ngayon ang manhunt.
