MANILA — Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla on Monday refused to comment on the celebrity allegedly involved in the missing sabungeros case.

Remulla noted that the statements of one of the accused, Alias Totoy, were still subject to validation.

“I cannot comment on that yet kasi we have to, sabi ko nga we have to validate a lot of data,” he said.

Remulla earlier said that the accused seemed credible and could qualify as a state witness.

But he noted that the accused has yet to submit an affidavit to government authorities.

“Statement, meron akong nabasang statement, I don’t know if he has an affidavit, parang hindi pa fully sworn. Wala akong nakitang pirma sa nabasa ko but he must probably have one already,” Remulla said.

He aid that aside from requesting equipment from the Japanese government, the Mines and Geoscience Bureau of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources was ready to assist in the search for missing sabungeros in Taal Lake.

The accused reportedly said that the mastermind had ordered the missing sabungeros were to be dumped in the lake.

“May sarili tayo, pero we still need mapping facilities eh, kailangan ang Japan,” Remulla said.
