MANILA — Preparations for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections (BSKE) will proceed as the bill postponing it awaits President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.’s signature, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) said on Tuesday.

“Pinag-usapan namin ang tatlong scenario: Preparation ng procurement ng big-ticket items, ano yan? Katulad sa barangay, ang malaking procurement at matagal ay ballot box. Kaya ang ballot box—reset o hindi—tuloy-tuloy ang procurement namin nun, 60,000 pieces,” Bulay told reporters at the National Printing Office.

Once the bill is signed by the president into law, the BSKE will be held on the first Monday of November 2026.
