MANILA - Government prosecutors have wrapped up their preliminary investigation on the kidnap-slay of businessman Anson Que and his driver Armanie Pabillo as the kidnapping with homicide complaint was submitted for resolution Thursday.

Prosecutor General Richard Anthony Fadullon said Que’s son, Alvin, is still included as a respondent despite the motion filed by the complainant Philippine National Police (PNP) to withdraw his name.

“Sa ngayon kasali pa siya kasi hindi pa formally naaaksyunan iyong motion to amend, once that is resolved then that is the time we will be able to find out whether he is excluded or included but what I am saying is that it will not be resolved separately, it will be resolved together with the resolution issued by the prosecutors,” Fadullon said.

Alvin’s lawyer, Atty. Perlieto Campanilla, said they are no longer filing a counter-affidavit considering that the PNP has already asked to withdraw his name from the complaint.

“Ngayon, kung halimbawa naman na i-deny, humingi kami ng time to file a counter-affidavit,” Campanilla said.

The lawyer also noted that the presence of Alvin during the preliminary investigation proceedings means he is willing to help in resolving the case.

“Actually iyong pagharap niya is actually para makatulong kasi remember si Alvin Que ay anak ni Anson Que, iyong nakidnap at namatay,” Campanilla said.
