MANILA — A traffic aide at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) narrated how she escaped a near-death experience during a crash incident there last weekend.

Florence Flores said she was manning the traffic at the departure area on Sunday when she heard the revving sound of the SUV that rammed into gate of NAIA Terminal 1.

"At that time, nakatalikod ako sa [direksyon] niya at may naririnig akong [nagre-rev na kotse]. After nun, hindi ko naman alam na siya mismo 'yung nagre-rebolusyon. Nung time na 'yun humarurot na lang bigla siya," she said in an interview with ABS-CBN News.

Flores said she was shocked and could not move after the crash.

But just moments later, she helped those involved in the incident and resumed manning traffic in the area.

Now that she has processed what happened, Flores said: “Napapaluha po ako habang nagtatrabaho pero itinatago ko lang."

"Kunwari ay matapang maski na napupuna ng kapwa sa trabaho na ako ay umiiyak,” she said.

The incident left a 4-year-old girl and a 29-year-old man dead.

The driver involved in the crash was charged with reckless imprudence resulting in two counts of homicide, multiple physical injuries, and damage to property.

"Diyos lang talaga ang magliligtas sa atin kaya po patuloy ang aking pasasalamat at ako ay iniwas sa kapahamakan,” Flores said.
