MANILA -- The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Wednesday launched the Community Assistance, Safety, and Support Network (CASSN) at the Plaza Lorenzo Ruiz in Binondo, Manila.

The CASSN is designed to provide better support to foreign nationals in the area.

"It's an outpost na talagang caters po dun sa foreigners natin, 'yung mga Chinese and foreign nationals po, kasi minsan po nangyayari, hindi natin nakikita eh. In fact, sinasabi ko nga 'yung mga police stations nakatago. Gusto namin mas malapit," said PNP Chief Gen. Rommel Marbil.

He added that officers who know how to speak other languages, such as Chinese, will be assigned to the new assistance hub.

"Ang difference po natin dito, we'll make sure that the our policemen here are equipped with the languages na marunong sila," Marbil said.

"Dapat kung nandito ka na-assign dito sa Binondo, dapat marunong ka na magsalita ng Chinese. Kasi karamihan dito mga visitors natin, galing mainland China," he added.

CASSN will serve as a dedicated point of contact for foreign nationals, where complaints and reports can be submitted via walk-ins, hotlines, emails, or referrals.

In coordination with the police station, they will log the concerns, verify their accuracy, and promptly refer them to the appropriate PNP unit for resolution.

According to PNP, it serves as a platform for reporting crimes, addressing community concerns, and accessing timely police services.
