Filipino hiphop group "Morobeats" made waves online for their performances during the historic Atin Ito concert at the West Philippine Sea.

Their song "Teritoryo", which was written in 2024, became the anthem and rallying call for the third civilian mission.

JMara, a member of Morobeats, shared that the 25-member group started more than 10 years ago, each coming from different backgrounds.

"Magkakaiba po kami ng lahi. May Muslim po, may iba't ibang relihiyon po kami, pero magkakapatid po kami sa musika," he said.

(We come from different races. There are Muslim members, we have different religions, but we are all brothers in music.)

"Nabuo po kami dahil sa musika e, tsaka sa isang layunin na maging isang Pilipino na may sinasabing totoo sa lahat ng nangyayari dito sa Pilipinas po," JMara added.

(We formed the group because we are bonded in music, and the single goal of being a Filipino who sings the truth about what is happening in the country.)

This is the group's first time to sail in the West Philippine Sea, where they got to see Chinese vessels in our territory firsthand.

Only 18 out of the 25 members made it to the mission as others had day jobs or overseas.

"'Yung pakiramdam dito, bukod sa kaba, meron ding saya dahil nakapaglayag tayo sa karagatan na atin ng walang kung sino mang pumipigil sa mga hangarin natin na maipakita sa iba nating kababayan na pwede tayo, malaya tayong pumunta dito sa lugar na ‘to dahil atin ito," he said.

(We feel that aside from anxiety, there is also joy because we got to sail in our waters without anyone hindering our aspiration to show Filipinos that we are free to go here because this is ours.)

He shared that they specifically wrote the song "Teritoryo" last year upon seeing news about the tension in the West Philippine Sea.

"Nung nalaman po namin sa balita na nag-aagawan ng teritoryo, naisip po naming magsulat ng kanta na para iparating sa kung sino mang makikinig na sa amin po ang Pilipinas, sa mga Pilipino po, ang karagatan ng Pilipinas," he said.

(When we saw news about the tension in the West Philippine Sea, we thought about writing a sing to tell our audiences that the West Philippine Sea is ours.)

"'Yung marami na po nangyayari, nagkakapalitan, nagkakasakitan na po. Doon po namin talaga naisip na isulat na talaga ‘yun at gawin kanta," he added.

(When there were a lot of things happening already, people getting hurt, we started composing the song.)

The group has been touring the Philippines for their performances.

JMara said they will be ready to join more expeditions to the West Philippine Sea if there will be opportunities in the future.

They are also thanking fans who appreciated their songs during the concert.

"May mensahe lang po sana kami parating na sana po lahat tayo mangarap tayo ng hindi lang para sa ating sarili kundi para sa ating bayan, para sa lahat," he said.

(We want to send the message that we should all dream not just for ourselves but also for our country.)

JMara said a new song will be written based on their experience in the mission.

"Kaya pag-uwing pag-uwi namin sa kanya-kanyang bahay namin, matik na isusulat namin to bilang isang kanta," he said.

(Once we get home, we will write a song about their experience.)
