MANILA -- President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. omitted senatorial candidate Camille Villar in his endorsement speech at the campaign sortie of Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas' Senate slate in Batangas on Saturday, May 3.

The president mentioned Villar in his previous speeches despite her absence.

Marcos' skipping Villar’s name came days after he ordered an investigation into Villar-led water utility firm PrimeWater due to complaints from consumers.

Vice President Sara Duterte earlier endorsed the senatorial bids of Marcos-linked candidates Villar and Sen. Imee Marcos, who has left Alyansa, because they are “united by a common vision.”

MARCOS’ PROMISES

Unlike his previous endorsement speeches, Marcos laid out specific projects and vowed to accomplish them before his terms ends.

These include boosting the agriculture sector, ensuring stable power and water supply and building various infrastructure among others.

The chief executive also touted the Metro Manila Subway Project to solve the worsening traffic.

The country’s top leader also guaranteed improved digital infrastructure to make internet access available for every Filipino.

The admin’s senatorial ticket will head to Cebu on Monday, May 5, following an invitation from Governor Gwen Garcia for the One Cebu Rally exactly a week before the May 12 polls.
