MANILA — Gerville "Jinky Bitrics" Luistro will remain the representative of the second district of Batangas after defeating former congressman Raneo Abu.

Luistro was proclaimed for her second term after garnering 109,478 votes, while Abu got only 66,583 votes.

“My victory today is a testament to what I did during my last term, rest assured lalo ko pong sisipagan, lalo ko po gagalingan, I’m truly grateful with the trust and opportunity that you continue to give me,” said Luistro. 

Luistro gained recognition for her questioning during the Quad Committee investigation in the House of Representatives, which probed extrajudicial killings, the war on drugs, and POGO operations under former President Rodrigo Duterte.

 Abu has accepted his defeat but challenged Luistro to stop "harassing" his allies.

“Tama na yung ginagawa mo panggigipit sa mga kakampi ko sa pulitika, iaabot mo ang kamay ng reconciliation kung gusto mo magkaroon tayo ng katahimikan, kapayapaan dito, nasasaiyo, ikaw ang manguna, ikaw ang ina ng Segunda Distrito,” said Abu.

The second district is composed of the municipalities of Lobo, San Pascual, Bauan, San Luis, Mabini, and Tingloy.
