MANILA — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) en banc on Tuesday suspended the proclamation of Marcy Teodoro as district representative of Marikina City until the electoral complaint against him is resolved.

The Comelec has yet to resolve a petition to cancel Teodoro's certificate of candidacy over alleged material misrepresentation.

Based on unofficial results with nearly 100 percent of election returns transmitted, Teodoro obtained 74,527 votes against opponent Koko Pimentel, who only got 28,866 votes.

Aside from the Comelec raps, Teodoro was ordered suspended by Office of the Ombudsman in relation to the alleged misallocation of P130 million funds for the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation.

Meanwhile, the Comelec also suspended the proclamation of Darwin Sia as Manila 2nd District councilor pending the resolution of an election complaint against him. The Comelec earlier affirmed the decision of its 2nd Division cancelling Sia’s certificate of candidacy.

Sia is leading the 2nd District councilor race in Manila with 61,732 votes.

The Comelec also suspended the proclamation of Jeryll Harold Respicio as vice mayor of Reina Mercedes, Isabela pending the resolution of the disqualification petition filed against him by the poll body’s Task Force Katotohan, Katapatan, Katarungan.

In a video interview, Respicio described the development as "political" since the poll body “doesn’t like” him.

Respicio said Comelec wouldn’t be able to “trump” his constituents’ decision.
