(UPDATED) Mark Anthony Santos has pulled off a stunning upset win over Cynthia Villar in the Las Piñas congressional race.

Santos was proclaimed  Las Piñas congressman-elect early Tuesday after securing 109,220 votes, way ahead of Villar who placed second with 79,315 votes.

Cong Louie Redoble placed third, followed by Barry Tayam.

“Taos puso pong pasasalamat sa lahat ng mga kababayan ko sa Las Piñas,” said Santos on Tuesday. “Ang maipapangako ko lamang sa mga kababayan ko ay isang tapat na serbisyo.”

“Nananawagan rin ako sa mga nakalaban ngayong halalang ito, na tayo’y mag kapit-bisig. Tapos na po ang eleksyon, trabaho na po ang gagawin natin.”

Meanwhile, April and Imelda Aguilar will continue their place at the top of Las Piñas after they posted wide leads over their respective opponents.

The daughter-and-mother tandem of April and Imelda (NPC) currently has 89,724 and 94,427 votes, respectively, also as of May 13, 2025, at 3:22 a.m.

These were enough for the Aguilars to dominate the Villar-led Nacionalista Party mayoral bet Carlo Aguilar — April’s cousin — who had 61,274 votes, and vice mayoral bet Louie Bustamante, who had 51,314 votes.

April and Imelda also won during the 2022 elections but in reverse roles.

In Las Piñas’ First District, Alelee Aguilar, Albie Aguilar, Jess Bustamente, Doc Eric De Leon, Mac-Mac Santos, and Robert Cristobal are currently expected to complete the list of councilors.

In the Second District, the leading councilors are Lord Aguilar, Henry Medina, Ruben Ramos, Emmanuel Luis Casimiro, Danok Hernandez, and Macky Saito. - with a report from Jeff Caparas, ABS-CBN News
