MANILA -- Four individuals have been cited in contempt by the House Tri Committee on Tuesday for repeatedly skipping its hearings. 

Vloggers Sass Rogando Sasot and Jeffrey Celiz, and Lorraine Badoy-Partosa were cited in contempt for "refusal to answer summons without legal excuse."  

The three have not attended the Tri Comm hearings since it began the inquiry last February and were issued subpoenas ad testificandum.  

Abang Lingkod Party-list Rep. Joseph Stephen Paduano made the motion to cite them in contempt, which was approved by the panel. 

Sasot, Celiz and Badoy-Partosa have been ordered detained at the House of Representatives until the Tri Comm terminates its probe.  

Mark Anthony Lopez, who attended the third hearing last month, was cited in contempt for "undue interference during the proceedings."

"He refused to be present today for the reason that he has already explained and discussed to us his participation as a vlogger. But nonetheless, for me supposedly, he has all the time in today's hearing why he should not be cited in contempt," Paduano said. 

"In the last hearing, I already warned all the resource persons that being cautious, not to issue statements, maligning, attacking the ongoing investigation," he added.  

Paduano cited a social media post by Lopez that attacked the House panel.   

"It was blatantly obvious that there was a concerted effort to humiliate us and bring us down our knees... Imagine all that effort, hype and hysteria dedicated to a puny bunch of vloggers," the lawmaker read from the post. 

"Ewan ko ha. Pero pwede naman kami i-ignore diba? Pwede naman kami balewalain. After all, if we indeed are fake news purveyors, the best thing they could do is fight us with their own information dissemination," Paduano added.

Lopez was ordered detained at the House of Representatives for 10 days.

The House Tri Comm also directed the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and the Bureau of Immigration (BI) to report on the status of Sasot, Celiz and Badoy-Partosa.
