MANILA – A lawmaker said on Monday the House of Representatives will find out whether individuals with records at the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and listed as supposed recipients of confidential funds of Vice President Sara Duterte actually received the money.

Paolo Ortega V said they will focus on checking the over 670 names from the Office of the Vice President (OVP) and 272 names from the Department of Education (DepEd), after initially reviewing signatories of acknowledgement receipts with alleged dubious names.

The lawmaker said the acknowledgement receipts being reviewed are the ones discussed during the House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability, where the first dubious names "Mary Grace Piattos" and "Kokoy Villamin" were revealed.

Ortega stressed that should they indeed have "mastery" for their actions and followed the guidelines, it would be easier to explain and answer the allegations.

"Lalabas po sa trial natin yan... Ang sure lang ho natin, yung mga fictious names, baka hindi na nakatanggap yung mga yun. Baka pampadagdag na lang sa listahan at yung may records nga po. Hindi nga imposible. Baka doon po napunta yung bulk ng pera na questionable na di parin mapaliwanag ngayon," Ortega said.

According to the proposed timeline earlier shown by Senate President Francis Escudero, the impeachment trial will formally begin on July 30.
