MANILA — Several senatorial candidates made rounds on Saturday, April 5 to continue campaigning for the May elections.

Admin bet Makati Mayor Abby Binay barnstormed Zamboanga Del Norte and Zamboanga del Sur where she was endorsed by Governor Victor Yu and Tukuran Mayor Macario Tingson

Should she win a seat in the upper chamber, she vowed to prioritize free maintenance medicine especially for senior citizens, better education system and tax removal on overtime and bonus pay.

1-Rider Partylist Rep. Bonifacio Bosita visited Bayawan City Market, Negros Oriental where he promised to focus on the agriculture sector to increase local production and reduce prices in the market

Labor leaders Atty. Luke Espiritu and Leody De Guzman spoke to students from Visayas State University.

In a Facebook post, Espiritu called the gathering an "independently-organized political education event" hosted by the students.

Other senatorial bets also campaigned in various parts of the country on Friday, April 4.

Senator Imee Marcos joined a local rally in Parañaque where she underscored the need to extend comprehensive assistance to solo parents.

“Labis-labis ang hirap nila. Sila ang takbo nang takbo, sa trabaho, todo kayod, pero walang sapat na tulong,” Marcos said based on her office's press release.

The presidential sister was also quoted saying that the Magna Carta for Solo Parents should have enough budget for it to be implemented effectively.

Former Senator Bam Aquino, meanwhile, secured the endorsement of Senator Sherwin Gatchalian who was quoted to have vowed for the former senator's victory in Valenzuela City.

“Kasama mo kami, kaibigan mo kami. Lahat kami dito, campaign manager mo. Makakaasa ka na dito sa Valenzuela, ipapanalo ka namin,” Gatchalian said based on a press release from Aquino's team.

The former lawmaker also reiterated his advocacy to push for quality and accessible education for all.
