MANILA — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr on Tuesday welcomed the results of a recent survey by OCTA which showed that majority of Filipinos trusted him and were satisfied with his performance.

According to OCTA's survey conducted from April 2 to 5, 60 percent of Filipinos trusted Marcos, while 59 percent were satisfied with his performance.

“It just validates what we are doing, that people are beginning to understand what we have been trying to do for the past two and a half, almost three years. So it continues to inspire me because it shows that we’re making progress,” the President said in an ambush interview at the PNPA grounds in Silang, Cavite.

“And that’s always good to know, minsan hindi mo na malaman kung nararamdaman ng tao yung ginagawa. Mabuti naman at nakikita ng taong bayan na yung ginagawa natin para makakatulong ito sa pampaganda sa kanilang buhay.”

The results of the OCTA survey comes after a similar Pulse Asia survey showed a double-digit drop in the President’s trust and approval ratings following the controversial ICC arrest of former President Rodrigo Duterte.

Palace Press Officer Claire Castro earlier said that Marcos would not let negative perception affect him in carrying out his mandate.
