MANILA — A police officer from the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) was arrested by his own colleagues on Monday, April 21, after forcibly entering a home in Barangay Damayan Lagi, Quezon City, and allegedly assaulting people inside the house including the minors.

In the footage, a visibly intoxicated man identified as a police staff sergeant of QCPD Police Station 2 allegedly barged in the residence.

As a result of the incident, QCPD chief Police Brigadier General Melecio Buslig was relieved from his post for failing to immediately report the case to NCRPO leadership.

QCPD Officer-in-Charge PCol. Randy Glenn Silvio said that the suspect claimed he was reacting to text messages accusing him of drug involvement, and he was trying to confront the person behind the allegations.

The suspect has since been placed under the custody of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit at Camp Karingal and will undergo psychological evaluation and drug testing.
