Meanwhile, Jordan Calaustro Barcena, a resident of Barangat Budac, suffered gunshot wounds and was brought to the hospital. He is now in stable condition.

Johnny Binwag and members of the Philippine Army, responded to the said call and while along the way and upon reaching Sitio Agdamay, they heard a lone gunfire,” the Tayum MPS said in a police report.

Police intercepted a black Ford Ranger driven by Jomel Barbieto Molina, 21, and confiscated from him a calibre .45 pistol without serial number and markings, and three magazines loaded with seven live ammunition each.

According to the Tayum MPS, initial investigation showed that Alcantara and former Bangued Mayor Ryan Luna’s convoy exchanged gunfire with the convoy of Barangay Budac Chairman Walter Tugadi.

A white Toyota pickup truck said to be part of Alcantara’s convoy also bore a bullet hole. It was found at Luna’s compound in Barangay Dangdangla, Bangued.
