MANILA — Malacañang believes there is no need for the Philippine National Police (PNP) to tap military intelligence to go against kidnappers, even as groups expressed concern over what they call an alarming spate of kidnappings in the country.
Palace Press Officer Claire Castro in a press briefing on Monday reiterated the assurance of PNP chief Rommel Marbil that the recent kidnapping cases are isolated incidents and that Philippine law enforcement authorities have the situation under control.

These are isolated, calculated acts routed in personal and financial vendettas. The situation is firmly under control, our law enforcement strategies are effective, criminal networks are being taken down.’
