MANILA -- The Department of Foreign Affairs on Sunday confirmed that 10 more Filipinos from Oddar Meanchey Province in Cambodia were safely repatriated with the assistance of Cambodian law enforcement and the Philippine Embassy in Phnom Penh.

Representatives from government agencies, including the DFA, Department of Migrant Workers, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration and Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking, received the 10 repatriates at the airport and provided them assistance.

The Philippine Embassy distributed to them care packages and paid for their repatriation flight using the Department of Foreign Affairs’ Assistance to Nationals (ATN) Fund.

Upon the 10 Filipinos’ arrival at the Immigration headquarters in Phnom Penh on Saturday after a nine-hour journey from Oddar Meanchey, the ATN team of the Philippine Embassy in Phnom Penh delivered hot meals and a fresh batch of care packages to the repatriates.

The Philippine Embassy has conveyed its appreciation to the Royal Government of Cambodia for the favorable attention given to the Philippine Government’s representations for the 10 Filipinos to be brought home to their families.

Last week, 26 Filipinos were repatriated from Oddar Meanchey Province.

The entire Philippine Foreign Service reminded the Filipino public to avoid being victimized by deceptive overseas job opportunities peddled on social media.

The Philippine Foreign Service also urged prudence and discernment among Filipino online job seekers.
