MANILA — The Philippine National Police (PNP) will be sending a contingent to Malaysia to bring Alan Dennis Lim Sytin — the alleged mastermind in the 2018 killing of his own brother, Dominic — to local justice.

PNP spokesperson and Police Regional Office 3 (Central Luzon) Regional Director Brigadier General Jean Fajardo said a team from the region is likely to fly to Malaysia on Thursday or Friday as coordination with the Office of the Police Attaché (OPA) in Malaysia is underway.

“We are just preparing for the travel documents required for the immediate repatriation of Dennis Sytin so he could face this murder case that we have filed against him,” Fajardo said.

Dennis was apprehended in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia, on March 22, the same day his alleged accomplice, Edrian Rementilla, also known as Ryan Rementilla and Oliver Fuentes, was arrested in Buhanginan Hills, Pala-o, Iligan City in the Philippines.

Dennis will initially have to face violations of Malaysian immigration laws before he can be repatriated to the Philippines.

“Ngayon po ay nasa custody na po ng Royal Malaysian Police si Dennis Sytin na naga-undergo lang po ng proseso because merong violation po ng kanilang immigration laws but we already requested representation from the ambassador of our special envoy and transnational crime and through their office, they already coordinated with the Philippine Embassy in Malaysia,” Fajardo said.

(Right now, Dennis Sytin is in the custody of the Royal Malaysian Police and is undergoing due process because he has violated their immigration laws. However, we have already requested representation from the ambassador of our special envoy on transnational crime, and through their office, they have coordinated with the Philippine Embassy in Malaysia.)

Dennis will be detained at Camp Olivas in San Fernando, Pampanga, while awaiting the commitment order from the Manila Regional Trial Court Branch 7, which issued the arrest warrant, on where he will be held to face the murder case.

“We expect na gugulong na po ito pong kaso po na ito para na rin po sa ikatatahimik at pagbibigay po ng hustisya, para na rin po sa namatay po na biktima, sampu po ng kanilang pamilya,” Fajardo said.

(We expect this case to move forward in pursuit of justice and peace for the victim and his family.)

Dennis, who has a P10-million bounty on his head, was implicated in the murder of his brother, Dominic, president and founder of United Auctioneers Inc.

Dominic was shot and killed in front of a hotel in Subic on November 28, 2018. The attack also wounded his bodyguard.
