QUIAPO, MANILA— Catholic devotees were reminded that the ‘washing of feet’ is more than a ritual—it is a call to love with humility and to serve others, according to Rev. Fr. Ramon Jade Licuanan.

During the Holy Thursday Mass at the Minor Basilica and National Shrine of Jesus Nazarene, Fr. Licuanan emphasized that true discipleship is rooted in humility and compassion.

He said some people hesitate to serve because of fear or insecurity, but he reminded the congregation that serving others is not optional.

Fr. Licuanan added that mission goes beyond the church doors. At the end of every Mass, we are told “Humayo kayo.”
