MANILA — Bus companies have added more trips going to the Bicol region on Tuesday as passengers continued to flock to the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX).
According to the management of PITX, bus trips bound for Bicol were the first to get sold out, even before the Holy Week started.

“Meron na tayong 20 trips additional, extra tips pa lang yun. Meron din tayong additional na 40 to 50 special permits (for buses),” said PITX Senior Corporate Affairs Officer Kolyn Calbasa.

But while more trips are being opened, Calbasa said tickets for airconditioned buses and buses with restrooms really get snatched up quickly.

PITX sees foot traffic reaching 180,000 on Holy Tuesday, but the crowd count is expected to peak on Holy Wednesday, once employees finally get off work and start their holiday.

She also assured vacationers that all the buses at PITX underwent a roadworthiness check, and that all drivers are fit to work.

His partner driver, Oliver Mascayan, also said it’s important to always follow designated speed limits for the safety of everyone— whether those with him inside the bus, and even other motorists on the road.
