Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon has ordered the preventive suspension of a bus company involved in Monday’s traffic accident along the North Luzon Expressway that left 13 people injured, a TeleRadyo report said.

Initial reports said the Monumento-bound Raven bus slammed into the closed van while trying to avoid  a dump truck on the NLEX southbound lane.

One bus passenger said the bus was speeding when the accident happened. "Mabilis po 'yung takbo ng bus tapos bago po kami bumangga sa truck, bumangga muna kami sa closed van. Sobrang lakas,” he said.

Thirteen people including the bus driver and bus conductor sustained minor injuries. 

The Department of Transportation has also issued a show cause order to Montenegro Shipping Line after one of its passenger vessels at the Batangas Port was found to be overloaded.
