MANILA (UPDATE) — Vice President Sara Duterte has endorsed the reelection bid of Sen. Imee Marcos following her falling out with brother President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. that saw her leaving the administration slate.

In a video posted on Sen. Marcos' Facebook page on Monday, the senator and Duterte were seen together wearing black to "mourn" the state of the country "burdened by crime and hunger."

"Itim ngayon ang kulay ng bansa. Sa gutom at krimen naglukuksa," Duterte said.

(The color of the country right now is black because we are mourning the proliferation of crime and hunger.)

"Gutom na ang sikmura, gutom pa sa hustisya. Ginigipit ang hindi kaalyansa," Sen. Marcos then said, an apparent reference to the administration's "Alyansa Para Sa Bagong Pilipinas."

(We're not just starving for food, we're also being deprived of justice. Those who are not part of the alliance are being harassed.)

Duterte then urged the public to "vote for Sen. Imee."

Sen. Marcos and her brother had been at odds over their conflicting stance on the March 11 arrest and transfer of former President Rodrigo Duterte to the custody of International Criminal Court (ICC), where he faces allegations of crimes against humanity over his brutal drug war.

Sen. Marcos left Alyansa last month after launching a Senate investigation into the matter.

The issue on Duterte's arrest was among the reasons cited by Pulse Asia as to why his allies such as senators Bong Go and Bato dela Rosa were currently gaining numbers in last month's survey.
