Palace Press Officer Claire Castro made the statement after Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian expressed alarm over recent incidents of bullying in schools, as he urged authorities to ensure that the Philippines would no longer be deemed as the "bullying capital of the world."

The lawmaker noted several bullying incidents, including a case at Bagong Silangan High School in Quezon City. The video of the incident showed a number of female students taking turns grabbing a fellow student’s hair.

Prior to this, two Grade 8 students in Las Piñas were stabbed to death by 3 fellow students outside their school over a disagreement.
