Bea Cuadra, ABS-CBN NewsMANILA — The Manila Police District conducted a thorough walkthrough around Quiapo to ensure the safety and smooth flow of the upcoming Nazareno procession, scheduled to begin at midnight on Good Friday, April 18th.

The assessment focused on reviewing the procession routes to identify and address any potential obstructions or necessary adjustments.

Police BGen. Benigno Guzman, district director, said the walkthrough was also meant familiarize personnel with the route segments they will be assigned to.

“Another thing is to check kung meron bang mga obstruction along the road na gagamitin kung ready na ba talaga yung roads so kung may mga obstructions pa then we can refer it to the concerned agency para maayos nila prior to the actual event,” he added. 

(We are also checking for obstructions and to see if the road is ready for use. If there are obstructions, we can refer these to the concernec agency so they can address it before the actual event)

The MPD also announced that they will be releasing detailed safety guidelines for the procession.
