WR Numero poll: Sara Duterte performance rating up, Marcos steady

MANILA — Vice President Sara Duterte's latest performance rating and prospects for 2028 Presidential Elections remain rosy despitethe controversies surrounding her family and office, a WR Numero Research Poll from March 31 to April 7 suggests.

Duterte scored the approval of 50% of respondents in the poll, up from 41% in WR Numero's February poll. Another 29% of respondents were unsure and only 21% disapproved of her performance. 

In contrast, President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr's own performance rating for the same period stood at 29% from 30% in February. Of the respondents, 42% disapproved of his performance while 29% were unsure.

Another 39% meantime supported the Senate's postponement of her impeachment trial to July 2025, while only 34% disagreed and 27.3% were unsure.

A majority, 90.3%, said they want Duterte to face her impeachment trial while only 9.7% said she should resign before trial. 

A little more than half, 50.3%, said senator judges should vote according to the evidence, 31.6% said they should heed public opinion, 6.7% said they should vote according to their conscience, 6.2% said they should vote on political loyalties, and 5.2% said they should vote on political beliefs. 

Duterte also led the 2028 Presidential Poll with 30.2%, followed by Senator Raffy Tulfo at 17.9% while 17.5% still had no choice. 

Former Vice President Leni Robredo had 12.7%, Grace Poe at 4.7%, Bong Go at 4%, Imee Marcos at 3.8%, 2.8% did not pick someone from the given list, 2.3% picked Risa Hontiveros, 2.1% picked Manny Pacquiao, 1.7% picked Robin Padilla and only 0.5% picked Martin Romualdez. 

Meanwhile there was no clear leader in the prospective VP race for 2028 with 30.7% saying they were unsure. 

Of the respondents, 18.4% picked Grace Poe, 1.61% picked Robredo, 8.4% picked Padilla, 7.7% picked someone not from the list, 7.4% picked Imee Marcos, 5.2% picked Manny Pacquiao, 3% picked Miguel Zubiri, 1.6% picked Defense Secretary Gilbert Teodoro and 1.4% picked Martin Romualdez. 

Candidates endorsed by both the Vice President and her father, former President Rodrigo Duterte however comprised only a majority of the winning circle for the Senate in two new pre-election surveys for Senator.
