When asked if he supports House Bill No. 11498 filed by Gabriela Party-list Rep. Arlene Brosas, which seeks to include misogynistic and discriminatory remarks as grounds for disqualification, Adiong said there are existing mechanisms in place but that he is open to discussing amendments to election laws.

“I believe the reason for the show-cause order is for the candidates to also explain their side. Whether or not Comelec has to proceed with filing a disqualification, because the Comelec as a regulatory commission can do in moto propio those kind of penalties,” he said.
