QUEZON CITY- A police official who was allegedly berated and humiliated by an official of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) during an operation in Barangay Teachers Village east will be filing charges, the National Police Commission (Napolcom) said.

Napolcom Commissioner Atty. Ralph Calinisan confirmed that Police Captain Mann Felipe of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) is planning to file a case for violation of the Data Privacy Act against MMDA official Gabriel Go.

Calinisan will assist the police officer in filing the case, as he believes that "there is deep injury to the police organization caused by the acts of Go."

The complaint stems from a viral video in which Go, who is also the chief of the Special Operations Group of MMDA, was seen repeatedly scolding the police officer during one of their clearing operation in the area.

Go called the attention of Felipe, who owns one of the motorcycles which were found illegally parked in front of the police station in the area.

In a portion of the video, Felipe was seen moving his motorcycle while repeatedly apologizing to Go.

Calinisan said that Go was still berating the official, even after issuing a violation ticket to the latter.

"Nagkamali yung pulis natin, natiketan na, nag-sorry naman na, sana hindi na pinahiya," he said in a statement.

ABS-CBN has reached out to MMDA and Go for a comment on the matter, but there is no response yet as of posting.
