MANILA — Malacanang said on Monday it is leaving it to the Senate and House of Representatives to look into the recent discovery of more suspicious names in the receipts submitted by the Office of the Vice President (OVP) on its disbursements of its confidential funds.

 According to House Deputy Majority Leader Paolo Ortega V, the latest batch of seemingly bogus names include “Beverly Claire Pampano,” “Mico Harina,” “Patty Ting” and “Ralph Josh Bacon.”

“Hindi lang po siguro ang Palasyo ang medyo nagtataka, siguro lahat po ng—ang taumbayan mismo ay nagtataka kung bakit ganito ang mga resibo na naibigay ng OVP. At ito pong mga ebidensiya po na iyan ay ilalaan na lang po natin at ipapaubaya natin sa House of Representatives at sa Senado kung ito ay gagamitin man sa impeachment trial,” Palace Press Office Claire Castro said.

Vice President Sara Duterte has denied any irregularities in the use of the confidential funds, meant for surveillance and intelligence-gathering activities, but has declined to comment on the names, saying she does not know if the lists House members are checking are the ones her office and the Department of Education that she used to head submitted to state auditors.

The lawmaker said the names were listed as alleged beneficiaries of the Office of the Vice President's confidential funds.

"Mukhang listahan po ng mga bibilhin sa palengke o grocery ang mga bagong pangalang nakita natin," Ortega said. (The new names we found are like a grocery list.)
