MANILA — The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) announced on Monday the reclassification of 76 agents in a move aimed at improving operational effectiveness.

NBI Director Jaime Santiago explained that there was an urgent need to reclassify the positions of qualified Special Investigators (SI) and Investigation Agents (IA) to equivalent IA items.

The reclassification, which is retroactive from July 1, 2024, means the qualified agents will receive back wages.

Santiago said that this change would boost morale, enhancing both the effectiveness and efficiency of their work.

Bilang SI, ngayon SG 22,” he said.

“Ngayon naman eligible sila for promotion na. Magpakitang gilas sila para masama sa mapo-promote natin,” he added.
