MANILA — Malacañang on Monday urged transport group Manibela to engage in a dialogue with the Philippine government to address their concerns and prevent inconvenience to Filipino commuters.

Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Claire Castro made the statement as Manibela began on Monday its 3-day transport strike to protest the LTFRB’s alleged misrepresentation of data regarding the PUV modernization program.

According to Malacañang, initial reports showed that the effects of the transport strike to commuters had so far been minimal, noting that authorities provided free rides to stranded commuters.

Castro meanwhile said that the government would revisit its earlier data on the PUV modernization program.
