Imee Marcos, Camille Villar skip Alyansa rally anew

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Saturday omitted one senatorial candidate in the administration’s slate as he campaigned for 11 bets instead of complete 12.

Ten senatorial bets under the banner of Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas barnstormed vote-rich province Laguna Saturday, March 22.

“Kaya po magkaisa po tayo. Magkaisa po tayo sa ating Alyansa. At huwag nating gawing alyansa lamang nitong 10, 11 na tao, 11 na kandidato na tumatakbo bilang senador na kasama sa Alyansa,” Marcos Jr. said in his speech during the campaign rally.

It was not clear who among the senatorial candidates of the administration was left out.

This, as both reelectionist Senator Imee Marcos and Las Piñas Representative Camille Villar skipped the Alyansa campaign rally anew.

Similar to the previous rally in Cavite Friday, March 21, the president mentioned Villar in his speech, but not his sister.

‘NO TALKS OF DROPPING’

With the absence of the presidential sister and Villar in two consecutive campaign rallies, campaign manager Navotas Lone District Representative Toby Tiangco said there are no talks between the admin slate and the Nacionalista Party of dropping the two from the slate.

"I can not answer that question for them. So, I think like for Imee siguro siya dapat ang makasagot ng tanong na ‘yon. Hindi po kami," he said.

Reelectionist senator Imee Marcos, the president's sister, attended a forum in Quezon City while Villar held a motorcade in Caloocan City where she also secured the endorsements of Caloocan City 1st district Representative Oscar Malapitan.

‘OKAY LANG’

In a forum Saturday morning, the older Marcos said she has no problem with her brother not acknowledging her anymore in his campaign speeches.

"Yung tungkol sa rally na hindi na ako binanggit, okay lang. Eh tiisan tayo wala tayong magawa total sinabi ko naman mula't sapul, baka mauwi ito sa away-away ng dalawang panig, ayoko maipit," she stated.

"Nahihirapan ako hindi ko nakakausap ang aking kapatid kundi sa publiko at maraming humaharang," she added.

She skipped the campaign sortie in Tacloban, her family's bailiwick on March 14 as she opposed the arrest of former president Rodrigo Duterte.

"Tutal ang sinabi ko naman eh mula ngayon tutukan na natin tong isyung 'to kasi nakasalalay dito ang pagkatao at soberanya ng Pilipinas. This is way past Marcoses or Dutertes or politics or the elections. This is really the most important argument today," she stated.
