MANILA — With thousands to even millions of views on social media platform TikTok, content creator Vongivson Samonte from South Cotabato, also known online as "Vonny", has mastered the art of making people laugh—one pair of lyric mashup and dance move at a time.

Known for his witty humor and creatively unexpected twists, Vonny has gained significant attention on social media for his popular TikTok series, where he humorously reimagines song covers by blending unexpected melodies and lyrics to random OPM and international songs.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Vonny shared that he had always wanted to become a content creator but only started his journey in June 2024.

“[Ang] ginagawa ko, nagbabasa ako ng comments. And then, pag may lyrics na pumapasok sa utak ko, bini-video ko siya agad at ipino-post. Kapag ‘ito, pwedeng i-connect sa another song, oh pwede ito. Random ito, pwede ito’. And then go na, record, and then post na agad,” said Vonny.

Noong nag-100,000 na, and then unti-unti na siyang nag-million [views]… na-shock talaga ako kasi sabi ko, ‘pwede pala ‘to?’ Na-amaze ako kasi… ‘yun nga, the power of social media. Pwede [pala] talagang mag-reach ng maraming tao ‘yung videos mo as long as napapasaya mo talaga sila," he explained.

Para meron kang something to offer on the table na different compared sa other content creators,” said Vonny.
