MANILA — A Chinese national was arrested on Friday following a buy-bust operation in Bacoor, Cavite where over P217 million of suspected shabu and ecstasy tablets were seized by authorities.

Around 6 a.m. in the morning, combined forces of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Special Enforcement Service and Regional Office IV-A, Cavite Provincial Office, Philippine National Police Maritime Police Station and Bacoor City Police Station arrested a suspect identified as alias "Li".

The 35-year old male Chinese national sold a transparent self-sealing bag containing suspected shabu, weighing approximately 1 kilogram worth over P6 million. His negotiation with a poseur-buyer reportedly happened in a parking lot of a fast food restaurant along Bacoor Boulevard.

Authorities were also able to confiscate from suspect's possession some 31 plastic bags containing more suspected shabu — weighing more or less 31 kilograms worth over ₱210 million — and 35 pieces of red-colored ecstasy tables worth P42,000.

Seized also from "Li" were one Honda City and other personal belongings.

PDEA Undersecretary Isagani Nerez said the operation obtained more or less 32 kilograms of suspected shabu, with a standard value of P217.6 million.

The suspect, who is also a resident in Mandaluyong City, has long been in police's tight watch according to the authorities.

"He is capable of distributing voluminous amounts of illegal drugs, and is now behind bars,”  the PDEA chief said in a press release.
