MANILA – A lawmaker on Friday did not hold back his emotions when he expressed his opinions on how vloggers framed their posts, saying they should think about what they post on social media.

Manila Rep. Bienvenido Abante reached his limits when he asked content creator Mary Jean Quiambao Reyes what her basis was for saying the extrajudicial killings under former President Rodrigo Duterte was a “massive hoax.”

Rep. Joseph Stephen Paduano said Reyes’ claim was baseless since she does not have any documents to support this.

“Unless you have document under oath that indeed you have families of victims clarified, dispute the data,” said Paduano.

Asked if the content has documents under oath to support her claims, she answered in the negative.

“Like what I said, it’s on the – okay sir next time bago po tayo magsulat ng mga ganon kailangan kumuha po muna tayo ng mga dokumento under oath,” she said.

Abante, chair of the House human rights committee, echoed Paduano’s sentiments, most especially that Reyes does not have any documents for her claims on extrajudicial killings. This was when the lawmaker said he would cite her in contempt if she did not apologize.

“I apologize sir, tulad ng sinabi ko kanina, sa susunod naghahanap na lang po muna ng under oath,” she said.

Abante urged vloggers to have their opinions based on facts and documents, saying he was “insulted” with her earlier statements, to which she replied, “Yung post has nothing to do with you. It has nothing to do with, pasensya na po.”

Abante did not hold back in calling out the content creators.

“Mr. Chair, itong mga vloggers na ito, ito yung mga tanga eh. Tatanga-tanga. Mag-isip kayo, hindi yung sumusulat  kayo ng kung ano ang gusto niyong isulat niyo diyan. You are telling us criminal forces?  Gusto kong sabihin publicly. Ikaw ang t***a,” said Abante.

To maintain the House decorum, Abante's fiery comments were later stricken from the record.
