MANILA — A stand-up comedian was shot dead inside a bar in Angeles City, Pampanga province last weekend.

Authorities identified the victim as Goldenier Dagal, 38, a comedian residing in Sta. Lucia, Pasig City.

According to the initial police report, three unidentified male individuals were involved in the attack on Saturday night. One of them approached Dagal while he was seated inside the establishment and opened fire, hitting him multiple times.

The suspects fled on foot after the attack. They were described as wearing a white shirt and a red shirt, both with caps and face masks.

A dragnet operation has been launched to track down the suspects.

A follow-up investigation is ongoing to determine the motive behind the attack and to apprehend the suspects.

Dagal was known for his deadpan humor, often weaving socio-political themes and tackling taboo subjects.
