MANILA — The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) inducted 94 job order employees into regular plantilla positions and promoted 17 regular employees during a formal oathtaking ceremony on Monday.

NBI Director Jaime Santiago, who led the event, called it a historic milestone in the bureau's efforts to strengthen its workforce.

“Merong umaabot na 10, 15 years na JO. Kaya pinaaral ko sa aking HRMS para tingnan ‘yung plight ng mga ito,” he said.

“Unprecedented nga ika nga, ngayon lang nangyari sa bureau na 94 JOs ay ginawa nating permanent.”

The 94 employees inducted into regular positions had served in various NBI divisions.

Santiago, who himself began his career with the NBI as a contractual employee, said that this step ensured that workers they no longer have to renew their contracts every six months.

“Contractual employee ako ng NBI way back 1977 up to 1979 so ramdam ko ang hirap ng hindi ka regular employee. So ‘yan ang pinroject ko, mabigyan ng pagkakataon itong mga JOs natin,” he said.

In addition to the 94 regularizations, 17 regular employees were promoted, recognizing their outstanding contributions to the agency.
