MANILA -- Student groups from the University of the Philippines Diliman staged a protest on Friday to push for the start of former President Rodrigo Duterte’s trial at the International Criminal Court (ICC).

From UP, the protesters marched along Katipunan Avenue to converge with students from Ateneo de Manila University.

Gusto talaga nating itulak na magsimula ang trial regarding the war on drugs,” said Kabataan Partylist Rep. Raoul Manuel.

Manuel also called for the arrest of Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, who served as Philippine National Police (PNP) chief during Duterte’s drug war.

He added that dela Rosa should not hide behind his position as a senator.
