The Gulfstream G550 jet bringing former President Rodrigo Duterte to the Hague has arrived in Dubai Wednesday morning, just hours after leaving Villamor Air Base in Manila, according to flightradar24.com.

Information on flightradar24.com showed the chartered long-range business aircraft arriving in Dubai around 8:04 a.m.

According to publicly available data, the Gulfstream G550 aircraft with tail number RP-C5219, where Duterte was seen boarding, has a flight plan from Manila to Dubai, to the Rotterdam Airport in the Netherlands.

Video from an ABS-CBN News source showed Duterte lying down on a bed on the plane.

Duterte was arrested by police officers on Tuesday morning, acting on a warrant from the International Criminal Court over his war on drugs, shortly after he arrived in the Philippines from Hong Kong.

Duterte, 79, faces a charge of "the crime against humanity of murder", according to the ICC, for the crackdown in which rights groups estimate tens of thousands of mostly poor men were killed by officers and vigilantes, often without proof they were linked to drugs.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr has defended the Philippine government’s role in Duterte’s arrest, saying the arrest was made in compliance with the country’s commitments with the Interpol.

“Interpol asked for help and we obliged because we have commitments to the Interpol which we have to fulfill. If we don't do that, they will no longer help us with other cases involving Filipino fugitives abroad,” Marcos Jr said.

Duterte earlier declined to be flown to the Hague in the Netherlands to face trial before the ICC, saying that it no longer has jurisdiction over the Philippines.

“ICC is out of the question… We are not a signatory of the ICC. Diyan ako hindi papayag," the former president said, as heard through an Instagram livestream conducted by his daughter, Veronica.

"I am a Filipino, you are all Filipino. Ako, pag nagkasala, you prosecute me in Philippine courts with a Filipino judge, with a Filipino prosecutor at magpakulong ako sa bayan ko kung sakali," he said.

"That is kidnapping," Duterte said

A petition for temporary restraining order filed by Duterte and Sen. Ronald dela Rosa was raffled off by the Supreme Court Tuesday evening. No decision was issued before Duterte was flown outside the country.

Former SC Justice Antonio Carpio, however, said the petition is now moot and academic since Duterte is no longer in Philippine territory.

“‘Yung TRO will become moot na dahil nasa The Hague na ‘yung former president. Moot and academic na ‘yung TRO but the case can continue with respect to the whether there was compliance with the law on the arrest and surrender. ‘Yun ang pwedeng mag-continue,” Carpio said in a TeleRadyo Serbisyo interview.
