MANILA — Vice President Sara Duterte is set to return to the Philippines “anytime within this week” from Hong Kong to attend the “Araw ng Dabaw” events in her hometown, the Office of the Vice President (OVP) said on Monday.

Duterte attended the “Pasasalamat Para kay PRRD” event in Hong Kong, which gathered overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in a stadium in Wan Chai to meet the Vice President, her father, former President Rodrigo Duterte, and several Senate candidates.

The younger Duterte said she also took her youngest child to Hong Kong Disneyland.

“The Vice President is expected to return to the Philippines anytime within this week since she is expected to grace the 88th Araw ng Dabaw this coming weekend,” the Office of the Vice President said in a statement.

“With regards on the exact date of her return, I'm not privy with her schedule except with the forthcoming Araw ng Dabaw festivities,” the statement read.

The local government of Davao City — headed by the Vice President’s brother Sebastian Duterte — organized a parade on March 16 to mark the 88th anniversary of the city’s charter.

Duterte is also expected to visit the Davao City Museum next week.
